The automotive industry is a comprehensive and technology-intensive sector, integrating R&D, manufacturing, sales and after-sales services. Its industrial chain is clear, mainly divided into three core links: upstream, midstream and downstream.
Upstream focuses on core components (engines, chassis, electrical systems) and general parts (brackets, panels, crossbeams), which are the foundation of vehicle manufacturing. Midstream is the vehicle assembly link, including stamping, welding, painting and final assembly, turning parts into finished vehicles (passenger cars, commercial vehicles, NEVs). Downstream covers sales, maintenance, parts replacement and other services, ensuring the whole-life use of vehicles.
Currently, electrification and intelligence are the main development trends. NEVs gradually replace traditional fuel vehicles, and L2-L3 autonomous driving technologies are widely applied. The industry is also accelerating digital transformation, with key process digitalization rate expected to exceed 70% by 2027.
